Intimate music with the DSO

Deloitte presents Intimate Music at the Maritime Gallery with the Darwin Symphony Orchestra in association with Southern Cross Television on 25 May.

In finding new ways to engage listeners, especially the younger generation, composers and performers are creating music which has relevance out of the concert hall – Musicircus, a unique free flowing concert, has been designed along this theme, especially for the Maritime Gallery.

Darwin Symphony Orchestra musicians and guests will perform a variety of music from different levels of the space, featuring the spectacular sounds of international guest artist Robert Nairn, on Sunday, 25 May, from 3pm, in the Colin Jack-Hinton Maritime Gallery, Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory.

This free event includes soloists Rebecca Harris on cello, flautist Janusz Kwasny, Lisa Jennings on clarinet, Martin Corcoran on saxophone, and on double bass, Robert Nairn.

The afternoon program includes Igor Stravinsky’s Three Pieces for Clarinet Solo, and Colin Bright’s ‘Song’ from Young Tree Green.
