Orientation 2008 a must at CDU

Orientation 2008 at Charles Darwin University (CDU) is a day jam-packed with social, cultural and sporting events which will help students to settle quickly into university life.

Specific programs designed to meet the needs of all new students have been organised for CDU’s Alice Springs, Casuarina and Palmerston campuses throughout February.

Orientation is a must for people who are new students, re-enrolling, or returning to study. CDU wants to ensure that all students are familiar with their campuses and course requirements to ensure a smooth transition into the CDU lifestyle.

Orientation also provides the opportunity to find out about support services available at CDU for new and continuing students. Elizabeth Macdonald, director of Support and Equity Services, said the transition to university life could be challenging.

“Students are prone to more stress and concerns about their future,” she said. “During Orientation Week we get a chance to show all students that Support and Equity Services can support them.”
