Classical music fans will have their final opportunity to see prominent Territory musician Adrian Walter in action at a free concert next week before he leaves the NT.

On Sunday 2 November, the Charles Darwin University Theatre will host a concert which will feature performances from the Centre for Youth Music Advanced Chamber Ensemble, conducted by Rebecca Harris, and guest singers from The Centre for Youth Music Pandanus Performers, conducted by Professor Adrian Walter.

The exciting repertoire will include a varied program of music, including the Wetland Suite by Darwin composer Cathy Applegate, Symphony No 2 by Sibelius, Villanesca by Granados, the Serenade by Matthias and Blue Whale Dreaming by Richard Charlton.

The concert also will act as a swansong for Pandanus Performers Conductor and Dean of Charles Darwin University’s Faculty of Law, Business and Arts, Professor Adrian Walter, who will leave the University at the end of the year.

These groups are among Darwin’s premier youth performance ensembles, and promise a memorable afternoon of joyful music making in the air-conditioned comfort of the Charles Darwin University Theatre.

The concert starts at 3pm at the Charles Darwin University Theatre on the Casuarina campus.
