Hundreds to robe up for graduation 

 
 

More than 250 graduands will robe up to receive formal recognition of the successful completion of their studies at Charles Darwin University’s (CDU) end-of-year graduation ceremony on Friday night. 
 
More than 1000 students will officially graduate as a part of the ceremony which recognises the academic achievements of students from both the higher education and vocational education and training sectors. 
 
The end-of-year graduation ceremony, to be held on Friday, 10 October, will take place at the new Darwin Convention Centre for the first time. 
 
A total of nine PhDs, an Emeritus Professorship and two Honorary Doctorates will be awarded on the night. 
 
PhD graduands Bernadine Atkinson, Janet Whitehead, Rodney Nixon, Gao Yu, Azmah Abdul Manaf, Linda Jan Rice, Fay Johnston, Tricia Nagel and Judy Opitz will all be present on the evening. 
 
General Manager of Royal Darwin Hospital, Dr Len Notaras will give the Occasional Address at the ceremony. 
 
High-profile Bachelor of Nursing graduate, Divya Lakshmi Kannan will give the graduates’ response.
