Canadian High Commissioner, His Excellency Michael Leir visited Charles Darwin University (CDU) and met with Vice Chancellor, Professor Helen Garnett and Head of the School of Australian Indigenous Knowledge Systems, Professor Wendy Brady on Wednesday 6 June.

CDU has a number of partnerships and affiliations with Canadian universities including First Nations University, Mount Royal College and the University of Windsor, University of Victoria, University of Manitoba and Algoma University College of which CDU has hosted students on exchange.

Professor Brady will travel to Canada in July this year to undertake discussions with First Nations University and University of Manitoba to enhance partnerships, as both universities are committed to furthering Indigenous studies, Indigenous knowledges and Indigenous resource management.
