CDU library launches Science Direct (Elsevier) Freedom Collection

Professor Bob Wasson, Charles Darwin University’s (CDU) Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research, officially launched the Science Direct (Elsevier) Freedom Collection at the CDU library on 11 May.

In launching the collection, Professor Wasson said, ‘I’m delighted that CDU staff and students finally have access to this important and valuable resource.’

CDU now has on-line access to the Collection, which comprises the Elsevier Freedom Collection (full text 1995 to present) and the Academic Press backset (full text 1993-1995). Articles from over 1800 subscribed journal titles may be viewed, and table of contents for non-subscribed titles can also be accessed.

Main subject areas of the collection include the sciences, technology, medicine and psychology, a smaller number of titles from arts, humanities, economics and finance, and the social sciences are also covered.

The library will be organising training sessions about how to access the Collection. For further information, contact Jayshree Mamtora by email jayshree.mamtora@cdu.edu.au or phone 8946 6541.

The interface can be accessed through the CDU library website, at: www.sciencedirect.com.ezproxy.cdu.edu.au/science/journals.
