Prize winners congratulated for their achievements

High achieving students were congratulated by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Helen Garnett, in a special awards ceremony on Monday (February 19).

Professor Garnett handed out prizes and certificates to students entering their courses in 2007 and to last year’s winners.

Tara Collins, enrolled in the Bachelor of Business degree, was the first to be presented with her certificate to recognise her achievement in winning the Vice-Chancellor’s Prize for High Achievement in 2006.

Other recipients of the 2006 Vice-Chancellor’s Prize to be presented with their certificates were Brian McDonough, Simon Niam, Luke Muir, Corinne Prossor and Rhem Schroeder.

The 2007 Vice-Chancellor’s Prize was won by Elise Manhire, enrolled in the Bachelor of Design, and Varun Nair, a Bachelor of Engineering student.

The Dean’s Scholarship for the Faculty of Education, Health and Science was won in 2006 by Jonathan Bortoli, who also received the Vice-Chancellor’s Prize for High Achievement in the same year.

The Dean’s Scholarship in the Faculty of Law, Business and Arts for 2007 was won by Kevin Kadirgamar, enrolled in a Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Laws degree.
