Science building on CDU's Casuarina Campus

Carlos Felipe da Fonseca Costa’s days at Charles Darwin University’s Casuarina Campus may have been worlds away from his Brazilian roots.

But he has fond memories of CDU after graduating with his Bachelor of Science in 2005.

Now completing his Master of Biotechnology at the Queensland University of Technology, he is quick to point to the unique environment of CDU as one of its most appealing features.

‘I loved CDU and Darwin for many reasons. The Campus is modern and cosy compared to other universities in Australia,’ he said.

‘Although the infrastructure is very good, I believe that the lecturers are the ones who make CDU such a special place. I can say that the informal and friendly way they approach teaching makes things a lot easier for students.’

Having lived on campus for two years and acting as the international liaison officer, Carlos believes CDU is the perfect destination for international students.

‘The University holds many fond memories for me and the friends I’ve made will remain with me forever.’
