CDU excels in national survey

Results of the 2005 Student Outcomes Survey published recently reveal 84% of Charles Darwin University VET graduates were employed on completion of their course.

The statistics show CDU graduates were most likely to enter government administration and defence, retail trade and health and community services.

Furthermore, the courses being delivered are highly relevant in the workforce, with 83% of respondents reporting that their employment allowed them to use their skills and abilities.

Graduates are overwhelmingly satisfied with the course they complete, with 73% of graduates feeling they had achieved their main reason for doing the VET course.

55% of those who went on to further study after completing their VET course were enrolled at university.

The survey is conducted nationwide by the National Centre for Vocational Education Research Ltd and aims to assist the policy development, planning and marketing of VET courses.

It surveyed all students who undertook VET at CDU in 2005. The information collected included demographics, fields of education, employment outcomes, industries of employment and student satisfaction with and opinions of their training.
