Certificate IV in Training and Assessment - 80 funded places for CDU Staff

The new Certificate IV in Training and Assessment will be delivered at CDU from early 2006. This course, which replaces the former Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training, is now the basic, required teaching qualification for any person delivering or assessing in Vocational Education and Training in Australia.

CDU is providing 80 funded places in the new course for staff who require the qualification for teaching VET programs. If you need this qualification, discuss it with your Head of School who can nominate you for one of the places.

Experienced VET teachers who do notĀ hold the old Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training will be encouraged to apply for recognition of prior learning in some of the 14 units in the new course. People holding the old qualification will also be able to upgrade to the new qualification through an RPL process, plus completion of units not covered in the former course.

At CDU the course will be offered in both Semesters One and Two in mixed-mode, with a substantial amount of content delivered on Learnline. Intensive workshops will also be offered to commencing students and for applicants for RPL prior to enrolment.
