‘CDU provides excellent teaching where lecturers are talented… and always encourage students to experiment new techniques’, says Charles Darwin University (CDU) Bachelor of Visual Arts student Anna Costantini.

Bachelor of Visual Arts

Why did you want to study at CDU?

I wanted to pursue my passion and devotion for the arts field.

What were the key things that helped you through your studies?

The support from lecturers and a close knit class environment. During breaks I could walk down the corridor and someone (a lecturer or a student) would be there to talk about ideas and give feedback on my work.

What did you like most about studying your course at CDU?

There was an excellent variety of subjects being offered and lecturers were inspiring. CDU provides excellent teaching where lecturers are talented, of a high standard and always encourage students to experiment new techniques.

Lecturers were very supportive and helped me showcase my work in exhibitions at 24HrArt and the Darwin Visual Arts Association.

Favourite things about life at CDU

My social life involved with living at North Flinders International House and drawing in the Chinese Gardens.

Greatest achievement so far

Having an exhibition at the 24HrArt gallery and receiving a letter of congratulation from CDU deans for getting High Distinctions in my units.

What would you like to be doing in the next five years?

I want to be able to complete my diploma in education and start teaching.

Words of wisdom for prospective students

Live at the art school and put in the hours because in the end it will help you achieve your goals and be part of the vibrant visual arts industry.
