CDU wins employer award for Indigenous skills training

Charles Darwin University’s commitment to the training of Indigenous staff has been recognised at the inaugural Northern Land Council’s Employee and Training Excellence awards.

CDU won the Employer Award in the Skills Acquisition and Career Advancement category in recognition of its numerous professional development initiatives for Indigenous staff.

The winners were announced at a ceremony at the Darwin Airport Resort last week.

Steven Sunk, course coordinator and senior lecturer in commercial cookery, won the award in the Top Individual Trainer category.

Mr Sunk was rewarded for his outstanding efforts in delivering Certificate I in hospitality to Indigenous students.
