Regis Martin has received the Center for Photographic Art International Award at the recent 16th Annual Centre Awards International Photographic Juried Exhibition

Charles Darwin University student Regis Martin has recently won one of three top prizes in the 16th Annual Centre Awards International Photographic Juried Exhibition in California, US.

Regis, from Larrakeyah, received the Centre for Photographic Art International Award of $1,000.

More than 300 individuals submitted work for judging by Sarah Greenough, Curator of Photographs, National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C.

Regis’ photographic work will be shown alongside 54 additional artists as part of the 16th Annual Center Awards Exhibition in Carmel, California from 27 October to 1 December 2006.

In September Regis was awarded an honourable mention in the International Photograph Awards 2006, part of the Pilsner Urquell International Photography Awards Competition, a prestigious contest for both professional and amateur photographers.

Regis is undertaking his PhD studies at CDU’s School of Creative Arts and Humanities.
