Current Bachelor of Education/Art student Sophie Butler, who moved from South Australia to Darwin, shares her experiences of studying on campus at Charles Darwin University.

Why did you want to study at CDU?

For a change, I wanted to relocate from South Australia and improve my lifestyle. I enjoy the tropical environment, so Darwin was the place to be.

Career aspirations:

I am very passionate about mathematics, so after my degree I want to be able to work as a secondary mathematics teacher.

Interests and hobbies:

I enjoy playing netball for the University.

What are your favorite things about life at CDU?

The friendly people, relaxed atmosphere and life on campus are key features that are really good.

What is your favorite place on campus?

I love the cafeteria. It is a good place to hang out with friends and relax between classes.

What are the key things that have helped you through your studies?

Support from friends.

What are the best aspects/positive experiences of studying your course with the University?

The lecturers I have had are well experienced. They provide motivation to keep on studying and learn new things.

Have the services and facilities provided by the University met your expectations?

Services such as the cafeteria, Post Office and the library are great. In addition, the staff at CDU are exceptionally good.

Tips/words of wisdom for prospective students:

Coming to Darwin for studies has been one of the greatest experiences I have had. The tropical atmosphere and campus lifestyle of CDU provides a great study environment.
