A smorgasbord of culture

The recent international student lunch had a great turnout

A successful international student lunch was held at Charles Darwin University’s (CDU) Casuarina Campus on Tuesday 5 September. The lunch provided an opportunity for international students to socialise with each other and key CDU staff members.

The lunch was jointly hosted by the International Office, North Flinders International House, Support and Equity and ACL Darwin English Centre. Catering for the 180 guests was provided by Shubert’s Catering and incorporated dishes from around the world including halal, gluten free and vegetarian dishes. The University Bookshop also supported the event, providing a $50 voucher as the major prize in the lucky door draw.

The lunch was also an opportunity for the wider university community to observe the diversity of cultures represented by our international students, with enrolments this year from 50 countries.

The next international student lunch will be held in April 2007.
