Charles Darwin University (CDU), in conjunction with the Northern Territory Department of Education, Employment and Training (DEET), invites you to visit the ArtStories exhibition.

ArtStories is a school-based educational research initiative where students, school staff and families participate in a range of arts activities to create and tell stories of self, family, community and dreams.

The exhibition which celebrates the commencement of ArtStories will be held at the Discovery Centre, Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory from 8-18 September.

Project leader of ArtStories, Anja Tait of the Learning Research Group, said the exhibition represents the first three months work in five school communities including Wagaman, Wulagi, Howard Springs and Humpty Doo primary schools and Numbulwar CEC.

“We are trying to ascertain over the next three years what impact ArtStories has upon partnership building, literacy, wellbeing and arts learning in a school community environment.

“The success of this initiative will be measured by a number of methods including standardised tests for literacy, videos, photos, sound recordings, journals and interviews with participants,” she said.
