CDU features at the Darwin Festival 

 
 
Rebecca Harris joins internationally renowned German guitarist and composer Wulfin Lieske as part of Duo Lointain's 'Sounds and Vision Concert'.

The musical talents of Charles Darwin University’s (CDU) Rebecca Harris and Kathy Banks will be showcased during the 2006 Darwin Festival.

CDU coordinator and lecturer in cello, Rebecca Harris, will join internationally renowned German guitarist and composer Wulfin Lieske as a part of Duo Lointain's ‘Sounds and Vision Concert’.

With a flair for the new and avant-garde performing compositions from around the world, Duo Lointain’s repertoire includes a wide variety of pieces from an equally diverse array of composers.

CDU lecturer in vocal studies and music, Kathy Banks, will also feature at the festival with a much anticipated vocal performance entitled ‘Orpheus in the Underworld’.

The Festival is representative of the melting pot of cultures that is Darwin, something which its population takes great pride in sharing with its visitors.

Over 18 nights, with more than 70 productions and 112 events and performances by over 1,000 international, national and Territory artists and cultural groups, the Darwin Festival is the place to be this August.\
